Ukrainian Spacemodellers Shine in Slovakia as Mariia Zahorodnia Wins Another World Cup Stage
Ukrainian athletes continue to represent our country with distinction on the international stage, demonstrating a high level of skill and professionalism in spacemodelling sport.
From May 22 to 24, 2026, the 5th FAI World Cup stage in spacemodelling was held near Partizánske, Slovakia.
Ukraine was represented by a delegation of four athletes. Despite the small team size, Ukrainian competitors once again proved their competitiveness at the international level and delivered strong performances against some of the world’s best spacemodellers.
A particularly outstanding result was achieved by Mariia Zahorodnia (Chernihiv), who won the S4A class competition and claimed the gold medal. This marks her second consecutive World Cup stage victory in the event, highlighting her exceptional skills, dedication, and consistent preparation.
Special recognition also goes to Dmytro Papich, who participated in the competition not only as a coach and team representative but also as an athlete. Competing in a new model class for the first time, Dmytro finished in 10th place, demonstrating a promising performance and strong potential for further development in the discipline.
The Ukrainian Spacemodelling Sport Federation sincerely congratulates Mariia Zahorodnia on another international victory and commends all members of the Ukrainian delegation for their successful participation in the World Cup stage.
We wish our athletes new victories, successful launches, outstanding results, and continued achievements on the international stage.
